Rose Byrne, Meghann Fahy to Lead ‘The Good Daughter’ Series at Peacock
Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy will star in “The Good Daughter,” Peacock‘s upcoming limited series series based on the Karin Slaughter novel of the same name. Byrne also serves as executive producer.
The official logline reads, “‘The Good Daughter’ is a suspenseful crime drama where sisters Charlotte (Meghann Fahy) and Samantha (Rose Byrne) Quinn have spent the last 28 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. Now a lawyer like her father, she’s forced to confront her own demons as the case twists through one shocking revelation after another. In the end, both she and Samantha find themselves wondering if the price of being the good daughter was worth it after all.”
Charlotte was originally set to be played by Jessica Biel, who later departed the project.
Fahy is best known for starring as Daphne Sullivan in Season 2 of HBO’s “The White Lotus.” Most recently, she played Merritt Monaco in the Netflix limited series “The Perfect Couple,” with other previous credits including “The Bold Type” on Freeform. In 2025, she’ll be seen opposite Josh O’Connor in the Sundance film “Rebuilding,” opposite Zachary Levi in Lionsgate’s “The Unbreakable Boy” and leading the Blumhouse thriller “Drop.” She also recently wrapped production on “Sirens,” a Netflix limited series with Julianna Moore.
She is repped by WME, Anonymous Content, Shelter PR and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Byrne’s prominent credits include comedy films like “Bridesmaids” and “Neighbors” as well as the FX drama series “Damages” and multiple “Insidious” and “X-Men” films. Recently, Byrne led the Apple TV+ comedies “Physical” and “Platonic.” Up next, she’ll appear in the films “Tow” and “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.”
She is repped by CAA and RGM Artists.
Slaughter served as a non-writing executive producer on the TV adaptations of her novels “Pieces of Her” and “Will Trent,” but will write and executive produce all episodes of “The Good Daughter.” She is repped by Victoria Sanders and Associates, Jeffrey Frankel of McKuin Frankel Whitehead LLP and WME.
Along with Slaughter and Byrne, executive producers also include Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver for Made Up Stories as well as director Steph Green. Fifth Season serves as the studio and distributor.
