2025 Sundance Film Festival Announces Jury Members

Filmmakers Reinaldo Marcus Green, Arian Moayed and Celine Song are among the among the jurors who will be bestowing awards at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

The 2025 Sundance Film Festival Jury is divided into six sections: U.S. dramatic, U.S. documentary, world cinema dramatic, world cinema documentary, short film program and Alfred P. Sloan feature film prize. In total, 16 jurors will be presiding over the festival to grant awards at the festival.

Steven Bognar, Vinnie Malhotra, and Marcia Smith will decide U.S. documentary competition. Ava Cahen, Wanuri Kahiu, and Daniel Kaluuya will vote on the world cinema dramatic competition, with Daniela Alatorre, Laura Kim, and Kevin Macdonald deciding world cinema documentary.

Kactor and SpectreVision co-founder Elijah Wood will decide Sundance’s NEXT category. Kaniehtiio Horn, Maggie Mackay and Kibwe Tavares serve as the short film program jury, while Michael Almereyda, Nia Imara, Dr. Monica Lopez, Nicholas Ma and Sam and Andy Zuchero will determine the recipient of the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize.

The jury for the Alfred P. Sloan Prize deliberated ahead of the Festival and awarded the prize to Christina Costantini’s “Sally.”

“We are thrilled to announce the incredible and accomplished group that comprise the 2025 Sundance Film Festival’s jury,” said Sundance Film Festival and public programming director Eugene Hernandez. “The jury plays a pivotal role in helping us recognize and amplify a new generation of storytellers, which is a crucial part of our work in independent cinema.”

In addition to awards voted on by the Sundance Jury, festivalgoers attending in-person will have the opportunity to take part in the 2025 Audience Awards, which are U.S. Competition, World Competition, and NEXT categories. Attendees will also be able to vote for Festival Favorite, chosen from any eligible in-person feature film screenings.

The 2025 Sundance Film Festival will begin Thursday, Jan. 23 with daily premieres in Park City through Tuesday, Jan. 28. Additional showings will take place in Park City and Salt Lake City throughout the Festival until Sunday, Feb. 2.
