Many of New York’s most notable hotspots — from the Plaza Hotel to Manhattan’s vintage dim sum parlor Nom Waa — serve as the backdrop to a new Nordstrom campaign, starring some of the city’s most passionate adherents, such as Spike Lee, John Turturro, John Early, Kate Berlant, Amy Sedaris and more.
The “For Everything New York” campaign, which dropped Monday morning, is a celebration of the retailer’s flagship store on 57th and Broadway. Partnering with iconic New York City destinations, they’re working to showcase the store’s “premier services” — from on-site beauty experiences to last-minute tailoring and expert styling.
“New York City has been at the heart of the Nordstrom journey since opening our store in 2019,” Deniz Anders, chief marketing officer at Nordstrom, said i na statement. “With the latest Nordstrom For Everything New York campaign, we’re not only celebrating the moments that matter to our customers, but also the iconic people and places that make this city so extraordinary.
“From The Plaza Hotel to Nom Wah, Zabar’s, and the American Museum of Natural History,” he continued, “we’re proud to spotlight the institutions that shape the movement and vibrancy of New York life. Through inspiring in-store activations and storytelling, we’re deepening our connection with the community we’re so fortunate and proud to be part of.”
The campaign, shot by Cass Bird and styled by Kate Young, follows the eclectic group of New Yorkers in different pairings across the city. In one shot, Turturro and Lee pose on the steps of the Natural History Museum, while another sees Berlant and Early grabbing dumplings on the street.
The campaign will appear throughout the city via bus shelters, newsstands, taxi tops and subway stations, with a special takeover of the Columbus Circle station near the 57th Street Flagship.
