Angel Studios Expands Globally With Multiple Output Deals
Angel Studios is expanding internationally with a second round of global distribution partnerships.
The U.S. distributor and production company — which released 2023 smash hit “Sound of Freedom” and is known for its faith-based films and TV shows — has signed multiple output deals around the world for its upcoming slate, including “The King of Kings,” the upcoming animated film about Jesus Christ featuring the voices of Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman and Mark Hamill, and “The Last Rodeo.”
The new deals include Saje Distribution (France), Kinostar (Germany), Rialto (Australia, New Zealand), Role (multiple Latin American countries), Crystalsky (Philippines), Empire (multiple African countries), Shaw (Singapore) and Skyline Entertainment (Sri Lanka). Last week it was revealed that Angel had signed a distribution deal with Kova for the U.K. and Ireland, while previously announced partnerships include A Contracorriente (Spain), Blitz (Croatia and ex-Yugoslavia), Filmone (Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria), Neema Media (Benelux), Nos (Portugal), Paris Films (Brazil) and Santa Barbara Films (Colombia).
The deals were negotiated on behalf of Angel Studios by Tom Molter and Michael Lavey and include the distribution and promotion of Angel’s entire upcoming theatrical slate. They also secure the releases for Angel’s films that have already completed their domestic theatrical run, including “Cabrini,” “Bonhoeffer,” “Sight,” “Homestead,” and “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.”
“As our Angel Guild continues to grow globally, so does the demand for stories that amplify light. This mission serves mainstream audiences worldwide, and these partnerships are key to expanding and innovating how we reach them,” said Jared Geesey, chief distribution officer at Angel Studios. “Each of these partners sees the opportunity to cultivate and engage this underserved audience in their markets, building a strong pipeline to connect international moviegoers to the Angel community. We are honored to work alongside them in bringing impactful films to theaters across the world.”
The distributors will also integrate Angel Studios’ Pay It Forward marketing technology with their local exhibition partners, allowing fans to provide movie tickets to those who might not otherwise watch in a theater.
“We are delighted to announce a partnership with these carefully selected distributors,” said Michael Lavey, Angel Studios VP of licensing. “Each of our partners brings a long history of distribution excellence in their market and a deep understanding of the Angel model. This passionate global network of distributors will help Angel identify and grow its audience, increase international box office numbers, and build awareness for the Angel Guild in their respective markets. “
Additional markets are set to be added throughout 2025.
