Ellen Pompeo has spent more than 20 years as Meredith Grey on “Grey’s Anatomy,” but she’s not quite ready to let her kid watch the series.

During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to promote her new true crime show “Good American Family,” Pompeo confessed that although her oldest daughter has seen “Grey’s,” she’s reluctant to let her middle daughter watch the long-running medical drama.

“My 15-year-old has seen it. And now my 10-year-old wants to see it, which, she’s not ready, but a lot of kids in her class have seen it.” Pompeo told Kimmel.

Pompeo added. “[Hollywood] is a super weird place in that way, but also a really incredible place at the same time because these kids look all around them and they see a bunch of people whose dreams came true. And they believe that their dreams, too, can come true.”

Pompeo, who began starring in “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2005, has three children with her husband Chris Ivery, a record producer. Although her character, Dr. Meredith Grey, hasn’t been a series regular since Pompeo stepped back from the show in Season 19, she still continues to narrate and executive produce the series.

In “Good American Family,” Pompeo stars alongside Mark Duplass as Kristine and Michael Bennett, respectively, the adoptive family of Natalia Grace. “Good American Family” premieres March 19 on Hulu.
