Kelly Clarkson to Interview Teddy Swims, Lizzo in NBC’s Songs & Stories
NBC has greenlit a new four-episode series titled “Songs & Stories With Kelly Clarkson,” in which the “Since U Been Gone” singer will interview Teddy Swims, Lizzo, the Jonas Brothers and Gloria Estefan.
The official logline for the series reads, “The conversations are a front-row pass for Kelly Clarkson to engage with some of her favorite celebrities and examine both their music and personal lives. The specials are a forum where iconic voices meet heartfelt storytelling through unfiltered conversation and sung in an intimate, unplugged setting.”
The “Songs & Stories” format originated on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” with Clayton hosting special episodes of her daytime talk series focused on various artists. Previously, her “Songs & Stories” interviewees have featured R&B artist Babyface; Miranda Lambert, who covered Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” alongside Clarkson; Alanis Moris who sang her 1996 “Ironic” with Clarkson; and Pink, who teased her album “Trustfall” and sang “What About Us” with Clarkson.
New episodes of “Songs & Stories” will air on Aug. 19, Aug. 26, Sept. 2 and Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. The series is produced by Universal Television, with Alex Duda, Kareen Gunning and Clarkson serving as executive producers.
