Tyler Alvarez has joined the ensemble cast of the horror-thriller “Corporate Retreat.”

The film, which is set to begin shooting in June, stars Alan Ruck (“Succession”), Ashton Sanders (“Moonlight”), Rosanna Arquette (“Pulp Fiction”), Simona Tabasco (“The White Lotus”) and Odeya Rush (“Lady Bird”). It is directed by Aaron Fisher, who also co-wrote the script with Kerri Lee Romeo. Uri Singer’s Passage Pictures is producing the film.

“Corporate Retreat” follows a group of executives who arrive at an exclusive desert retreat, expecting luxury and leadership training. Instead, the group finds themselves trapped in a sadistic psychological experiment run by a cult-like former CEO who forces them to either confront their darkest flaws … or die trying.

Alvarez is best known for his leading role as Peter Maldonado in Netflix’s mocu-series “American Vandal.” Since then, he has also starred in “Blockbuster” for Netflix, opposite Randall Park, the coming-of-age rom-com, “Crush,” with Rowan Blanchard and Auli’i Cravalho for Hulu, and in a recurring role of Netflix’s hit comedy “Never Have I Ever.” Alvarez can next be seen in Sam Hayes’ indie feature “Pools,” also starring Odessa A’Zion and Mason Gooding, which had its North American premiere as part of the TIFF’s Next Wave.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tyler Alvarez to our cast of ‘Corporate Retreat,’” Singer said in a statement. “I believe Tyler brings sharp wit and magnetic energy to the screen. He is a perfect fit for our satirical, elevated horror-thriller. His addition rounds out an already exceptional ensemble.”

Alvarez is represented by Buchwald, Artists First, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
