Adam Sandler is back on the green! Netflix released a full-length trailer for the upcoming sequel “Happy Gilmore 2″ during its Tudum presentation Saturday.
“Happy Gilmore 2” premieres July 25 on Netflix.
Sandler, Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen were among cast members who appeared onstage at Netflix’s Tudum presentation on Saturday, introduced by sports commentator Rich Eisen.
The trailer showed Sandler breaking into another new caddy — and this time it’s Bad Bunny.
On the Tudum stage, the kids who play Sandler’s children in the movie joked, “Is there actually anyone under 60 in this movie?”
Other cameos onstage and in the movie include Jon Lovitz.
A teaser trailer in March showed Sandler’s former pro hockey player character worrying about facing off against PGA champions and eventually returning to the golf course. “Happy Gilmore 2” begins streaming July 25 on Netflix.
Returning cast members from the 1996 original include Bowen, McDonald and Ben Stiller, plus newcomers such as Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce, Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie and Sandler’s daughters Sadie and Sunny. Professional golfers John Daly, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and more also appear in the sequel.
Though Kelce didn’t appear in the shorter teaser, Sandler said on “The Tonight Show” that fans would be happy to see him in the sequel.
“He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”
“Happy Gilmore 2” is directed by Kyle Newacheck, who directed Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Netflix’s “Murder Mystery,” and co-written by Sandler and the original film’s Tim Herlihy, while director Dennis Dugan is back as an executive producer.
