Scott Belsky, Adobe’s chief strategy officer and executive VP of design and emerging products, is leaving the company to join A24 full-time as a partner leading tech and innovation projects at the studio.
Belsky is an entrepreneur, author and creator who in 2006 founded Behance, an online platform that is used by more than 50 million professionals in the creative industry to showcase and discover creative work. Adobe acquired Behance in 2012 for $150 million. Belsky rejoined Adobe in December 2017, after a stint as a venture investor at Benchmark in San Francisco.
Belsky announced his move to join A24, where he’ll be based in New York City, in a post on X. “after 7 years since returning to Adobe (post the acquisition of @Behance), i’ll be shifting gears over the coming months + jumping into the fast-evolving world of filmmaking and storytelling (a longtime passion),” he wrote. “excited to join @A24, an independent studio i have long admired – as a partner and will be kicking off a few special projects within. fortunately, i’ll remain extended family of Adobe and look forward to working with them as a future tech partner.”
Adobe chief marketing officer Lara Balazs, in a blog post about Belsky’s departure, wrote, “I’m excited to see how his experience developing technology will translate to the entertainment industry. He’ll work to deepen A24’s commitment to filmmakers by building tools and resources to support their creative visions.” She continued, “We have always partnered with studios around the world, and we have already begun conversations with Scott and A24 on how the two companies can partner to progress the art of storytelling.”
Belsky serves on the board of directors for Atlassian and is an early advisor and investor in Pinterest, Uber Sweetgreen, Good Inside, Ramp and several other early-stage start-ups.
