“Bad Boys 3” directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are shooting Saudi blockbuster “The Seven Dogs,” featuring Egyptian stars Karim Abdel-Aziz and Ahmed Ezz and involving the fight against a dangerous new drug called Pink Lady that is flooding the Middle East.
Turki Al-Sheikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia‘s General Entertainment Authority, conceived the story of the $40 million action movie, the screenplay for which is written by Mohamed El Dabbah. Sheikh has previously dabbled as a screenwriter, having penned Saudi TV series “The Eight” and supernatural thriller “Cello,” directed by “Saw” helmer Darren Lynn Bousman and starring Jeremy Irons.
Abdel-Aziz and Ezz previously starred together in period piece “Kira & El Gin,” which is among the highest-grossing movies produced in Egypt.
“Seven Dogs” revolves around an Interpol officer named Khalid Al-Azzazi who apprehends Ghali Abu Dawood, a high-ranking member of a clandestine global crime syndicate known as 7 Dogs.
When, a year later, the organization resurfaces and begins trafficking Pink Lady across the Middle East, Khalid must reluctantly join forces with Ghali, the only person with intimate knowledge of the syndicate’s operations. “Their uneasy alliance propels them on a high-stakes mission across multiple global cities as they strive to dismantle the organization and prevent the drug from flooding Arab streets,” according to the provided synopsis.
