As for the movie itself, Variety film critic Owen Gleiberman calls “Another Simple Favor,” like “‘Knives Out’ crossed with a cartoon gloss on ‘White Lotus’.” He also writes that the movie “has more twists and less fun,” in his film review.
Directed by Paul Feig, “Another Simple Favor” follows Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) reuniting after the event of “A Simple Favor,” but this time on Capri, an island off the coast of Italy. Emily is having an over-the-top and luxurious wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman and she wants her old friend (and enemy) Stephanie to be her maid of honor. However, the wedding weekend is interrupted with murder and betrayal.
The movie also stars Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Elena Sofia Ricci, Alex Newell, Henry Golding, Allison Janney and others.
If you’d like to watch the first movie, “A Simple Favor” is available to rent for $3.79 (reg. $3.99), or buy digitally for $4.99 (reg. $12.99) on Prime Video too.
Stream “Another Simple Favor” in 4K Ultra HD on Prime Video for subscribers only. In the meantime, watch the trailer for the sequel below.
