Jaleel White’s The Flip Side Renewed; New Game Show ‘The Perfect Line’


CBS Media Ventures is playing a few more games. The syndication outfit has given a firm go to “The Perfect Line,” a new gamer hosted by Deborah Norville, to launch in fall 2025. Simultaneously, it has also renewed “Flip Side,” its game show hosted by Jaleel White, for a second season. John Budkins, the exec VP of programming and syndication production for CBS Media Ventures and Stations, announced the news on Monday.

“We saw ‘Flip Side’ quickly climb the ranks in its first season, growing viewership +23% from October to February, thanks to Jaleel’s charisma, humor, and a game that resonated with audiences,” Budkins said in a statement. “This fall, we’re ready to build on that success with our new game show ‘The Perfect Line.’ With the esteemed Deborah Norville at the helm and a fresh game concept, we will deliver another winning combination for viewers.”

“The Perfect Line” was developed with the pitch that stations could potentially pair it with “The Flip Side.” The CBS Stations group already picked up “The Perfect Line” in December; now the show has been sold to stations repping 90% of the country.

As for “Flip Side,” the show has been cleared on stations covering 95% of the country, According to CBS Media Ventures, the show is averaging 1.01 million viewers season to date, making it the No. 4 syndicated game show behind “Wheel of Fortune, “Jeopardy!” and “Family Feud.”

Based on a soon-to-be released boardgame from CMYK, “The Perfect Line” features questions about from world events, pop culture, sports, science and other topics. Contestants are given a category and then arrange events, items or people order — such as arranging six actors in the order of their worldwide box office gross. Winners are able to create “the perfect line” via that correct order, and try not to be eliminated after every round. The last person standing plays a final round for a chance at $10,000.

The show is distributed by CBS Media Ventures. Michael Binkow is executive producer, while Chana Shwadlenak is co-executive producer. Jon Barinholtz, Robert Belushi, Justin Vickers and Alex Hague are also executive producers.

“The Flip Side,” which is based on a format created by Keller Noll, follows two teams of players as they guess how two different groups of people feel about the same issue. Teams choose from multiple choice answers, and the right answer wins the pot. The show is distributed by CBS Media Ventures; Eric Pierce, Matt Laesch, Jaleel White, Ken Ross, Cleve Keller and Dave Noll are executive producers.
