A benefit concert will take place at the Intuit Dome on Jan. 30 with the purpose of rebuilding the communities devastated by the Los Angeles wildfires. FireAid is described as an “evening of music and solidarity,” with performers and ticket information announcements scheduled for the coming days.
The event is produced by Shelli, Irving, and the Azoff family, in conjunction with Live Nation and AEG Presents. Proceeds from the concert will go towards rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced families, and advancing fire prevention technologies and strategies to ensure LA is better prepared for fire emergencies.
The catastrophic fires erupted on Jan. 6 in the Pacific Palisades of LA, and quickly spread throughout the city, impacting multiple communities including Altadena, Sylmar, Granada Hills, Studio City and Runyon Canyon. Though firefighters have worked to contain existing fires, new ones erupted on Jan. 9, including one in West Hills.
These fires have caused mass destruction, thousands of buildings and homes have been burnt down and at least 10 people have been confirmed dead.
Hollywood events, such as the “Wolf Man” and “The Pitt” premieres, were canceled, and production on shows like “Fallout,” “Hacks,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Suits: L.A.” and many more were paused. Nominations for the Oscars, PGA Awards and WGA Awards have been pushed back. The 2025 Critics Choice Awards, originally set for Jan. 12, was moved to Jan. 26, and the BAFTA Tea Party and AFI Luncheon were delayed.
There are a number of financial and mental health resources available for those impacted. The city of San Diego and the tourism community have worked together to offer a safe place to stay for those affected by the wildfires, at a discounted rate. Hotels in Orange County, Santa Barbara and other surrounding locations are also opening their doors at a lower rate.
