India’s KVN Productions and Thespian Films have partnered for an untitled Malayalam-language feature, bringing together “Manjummel Boys” director Chidambaram and “Aavesham” writer Jithu Madhavan.
The Malayalam-language “Manjummel Boys” and “Aavesham” were among the biggest Indian hits of 2024. A title and genre for the new project have not been revealed yet.
The project assembles key technical talent including cinematographer Shyju Khaled, composer Sushin Shyam and editor Vivek Harshan.
The film joins KVN’s 2025 slate which includes Kannada-language “KD”; Geethu Mohandas’ “Toxic – A Fairytale for Grown Ups” alongside “K.G.F.” star Yash’s Monster Mind Creations; the 69th, and possibly last, film of popular Tamil-language cinema actor Vijay before he enters politics full time, currently known as “Thalapathy 69”; and a Hindi-language thriller from director Priyadarshan. The Malayalam feature marks KVN’s entry into the language as the production house continues expanding its pan-Indian footprint.
“Our vision has always been to redefine cinema across languages, and this film marks our foray into Malayalam with the same grandeur and excellence that audiences expect from us. With such exceptional talent at the helm, we’re confident about it,” said KVN Productions founder Venkat K. Narayana.
Chidambaram, who will direct, said: “I’m thrilled to work with a team that shares my passion for storytelling. This collaboration is something I am looking forward to, can’t wait to bring this vision to life.”
Writer Madhavan added: “This script is close to my heart, and with the support of such a stellar team, I am sure we will make something good.”
The project will be shepherded by KVN’s Narayana and Thespian Films’ Shailaja Desai Fenn.
