Olivia Rodrigo Brings Out The Cure’s Robert Smith at Glastonbury

Olivia Rodrigo brought her brand of sugar-coated pop-punk to Glastonbury on Sunday night, surprising festivalgoers with The Cure’s Robert Smith.

Together, the pair performed “Friday I’m in Love” and “Just Like Heaven.

This marks Rodrigo’s first time headlining the Pyramid Stage, though she played the U.K. festival back in 2022. During that performance, she made headlines when she brought out Lily Allen for a performance of her song “Fuck You” and dedicated it to the U.S. Supreme Court, which had recently decided to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“I’m devastated and terrified. So many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” she said. “I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a shit about freedom. The song is for the justices: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you! We hate you.”

The Grammy winner released her sophomore album, “Guts,” in September 2023 after skyrocketing to pop stardom with her debut record “Sour” in 2021. Now, fans are awaiting her next era.

In the meantime, she’s been keeping busy playing around the globe on her Guts World Tour, which extended into 2025 with additional dates in L.A.; Curitiba, Brazil; Mexico City; and Dublin, Ireland. She’s also playing BST Hyde Park in London before heading to Glasto, and then will close out the tour with two dates in Manchester.
