Prosenjit Chatterjee, Dev Lead SVF, Hoichoi Content Slate for 2025-26

Eastern India’s dominant entertainment conglomerate SVF and its streaming platform Hoichoi have unveiled an expansive content lineup featuring over 25 new titles spanning series, theatrical releases, and innovative formats. The announcement came during “Golper Parbon 1432,” a showcase event celebrating SVF’s 30-year journey in Bengali-language entertainment.

Leading the theatrical slate are two major star vehicles: Prosenjit Chatterjee‘s adventure thriller “Vijaynagar’er Hirey” and Dev‘s period fantasy “Raghu Dakat.” In “Vijaynagar’er Hirey,” directed by Chandrasish Ray, Chatterjee reprises his iconic role as the intrepid adventurer Kakababu, who embarks on a perilous quest for a mythical treasure. Meanwhile, “Raghu Dakat,” directed by Dhrubo Banerjee, features Dev alongside Anirban Bhattacharya, Sohini Sarkar, Idhika Paul, and Roopa Ganguly in a fantasy rooted in Bengal’s history, chronicling the rise of an outlaw.

The streaming platform is reaching its milestone 200th original series. Among the most anticipated series are “Anushandhan,” starring Subhashree Ganguly as a journalist investigating mysterious pregnancies in a women-only prison; “Naagmonir Rawhoshyo,” featuring Sohini Sarkar on a quest for a mythical gem in Thailand; and “Tomakei Chayi,” a psychological thriller about stalking starring Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Srijla Guha.

The slate also includes new seasons of fan favorites like “Advocate Achinta Aich 2,” “Nikosh Chhaya 2,” “Kaalratri 2,” and the conclusion of the cult hit “Indu 3.” Horror-comedy “Bhootteriki” and the latest installment in the beloved detective franchise “Feludar Goyendagiri: Royal Bengal Rawhoshyo” round out the streaming offerings.

On the theatrical front, Hoichoi Studios is scaling up with franchise titles including “The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika,” featuring the popular detective character in a new adventure, and “Gora-e Gondogol,” marking the big-screen debut of detective Gora. Other theatrical releases include “Kader Kuler Bou” and “Kumir Danga.”

SVF’s 30th anniversary film slate also includes treasure hunt adventure “Saptadingar Guptadhon” with Abir Chatterjee; “Chor Police Dakat Babu” featuring Abir Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Subhashree Ganguly; spiritual biopic “Sadhak Bamakhyapa”; and “Killbill Society” from director Srijit Mukherji.

The announcement also introduced Hoichoi TV+ — a new format designed to bridge traditional television and on-demand viewing. Upcoming titles in this category include “Shakha Proshakha,” “Atonko,” and “Shri Ramkrishna.”

“We take immense pride in the fact that Hoichoi is the main destination for all Bengalis across the world,” said Soumya Mukherjee, COO of Hoichoi.

“Hoichoi has tasted success simply because of its loyal users who have continuously given us a lot of feedback which has helped design our content strategy,” said Vishnu Mohta, co-founder of Hoichoi and executive director of SVF.

The company is pursuing a hybrid business strategy integrating streaming, theatrical releases, and branded storytelling, with plans for expansion in Bangladesh, Southeast Asia, and among the Bengali diaspora worldwide.

Mahendra Soni, co-founder and director of SVF, said: “SVF started with a simple mission – giving Bengali stories the platform they deserve. From building music channels to digitizing cinemas, launching an OTT [streaming] platform to reviving theaters, every step has been about reimagining entertainment. Three decades later, our passion hasn’t changed, only our ambitions have grown. The next big chapter begins today, so sit tight and enjoy the ride.”
