SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE “RAISING KANAN” SEASON 4 FINALE

Shameik Moore has joined the show for its fifth and final season. He made his first appearance in the Season 4 finale as the often mentioned but never before seen character Branford “Breeze” Frady.

“The ‘Power’ Universe fans have been patiently anticipating this moment and I’m honored to step into the iconic role of Breeze,” said Moore. “I jumped into a story that is already alive with such strong characters, but it was a fun challenge to find Breeze’s unique identity, and I can’t wait for fans to see how Breeze will shift dynamics in the story. It’s gonna be a wild ride.”

Breeze has been a part of the “Power” lore for some time, as it was first revealed in the mothership series that Breeze — a noted drug kingpin from Queens — employed Kanan, Ghost, and Tommy as corner boys. In the season finale, Snaps (Wendell Pierce) and Pop (Erika Woods) introduce Kanan (MeKai Curtis) to their nephew, Breeze,

“It was always my intention that ‘Raising Kanan’ would run for five seasons, and thanks to my friends and partners at Starz and Lionsgate, as well as the incredible cast, crew and writing staff, I’ve been able to tell the entirety of the story I set out to tell way back in 2019,” said series showrunner Sascha Penn. “Having said that, with the table we’ve set in this season finale and the inevitable introduction of Breeze, there is still an exceptionally intense and action-packed season left for the viewers to experience, and I assure you that the stakes for Kanan and the entire Thomas family have never been higher. I’m very proud of this series, and grateful that we’ve been able to see it through to what is an incredibly explosive and satisfying conclusion for the unbelievably loyal fans of the ‘Power’ Universe.”

Along with Curtis, Pierce, and Woods, the cast for Season 4 includes Joey Bada$$, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore and Tony Danza.

Penn serves as an executive producer in addition to being writer and showrunner on “Raising Kanan.” “Power” creator Courtney A. Kemp executive produces via End of Episode. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson executive produces through G-Unit Film and Television along with Mark Canton through Canton Entertainment. Chris Selak and Kevin Fox also serve as executive producers. Lionsgate Television produces the series.

With the end of “Raising Kanan” in sight, nearly all of the original “Power” spinoffs that were first announced upon the conclusion of the original show have ended or are ending. “Power Book II: Ghost” ended in 2024 after four seasons, while the fourth and final season of “Power Book IV: Force” is currently in the works. Starz previously announced that a Ghost & Tommy prequel series, “Power: Origins,” is in development.
