The cast for “The Real Housewives of London” has finally been revealed.
Bringing the drama across the pond will be Juliet Angus, Amanda Cronin, Karen Loderick-Peace, Juliet Mayhew, Panthea Parker and Nessie Welschinger. The series, set to launch on Hayu later this year, is the NBCUniversal reality streamer’s first-ever original commission.
Angus, a founding cast member of Bravo’s “Ladies of London,” is a Chicago-born lifestyle blogger, stylist, social media influencer and former fashion publicist. Cronin is a model turned entrepreneur who founded Amanda Caroline Beauty skincare and runs the Secret Door, an aesthetics and wellness clinic. Previous “Real Housewives of New Jersey” cast member Loderick-Peace moved from Jamaica to the U.K. in her 20s and is preparing to launch her own fashion line, while Australia native Mayhew is a former Miss Galaxy Universe winner and has a successful event planning company. Parker moved to the U.K. from Iran as a child and is a mother of four known for her high-society lifestyle. Finally, Welschinger was a global head of equity at asset management company Schroders and now runs the Chelsea Cake Company, having showed off her skills on “Bake Off: The Professionals.”
The series went into production in March and promises to showcase the “luxury of living in the U.K.’s iconic capital,” according to its official synopsis. “Whether hosting lavish dinners, escaping to a Scottish castle, or rebuilding bonds over bottles of champagne — they’re all navigating life, legacy and loyalty. With big personalities, deep histories and no shortage of designer drama, the path to connection is never simple — but it’s always captivating. London’s calling… and these six ladies have answered.”
“The Real Housewives of London” is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio U.K. Productions (“Made in Chelsea”) and will be available exclusively on Hayu.
“Following an extremely popular casting process, we’re excited to confirm the group of dynamic women who make up ‘The Real Housewives of London’ — Hayu’s first-ever commission of an original series,” said Hendrik McDermott, managing director at Hayu and EMEA networks and international direct-to-consumer at NBCUniversal. “As we continue evolving our strategy to super-serve loyal Hayu fans, we look forward to amplifying the unrivaled reality content offering that attracts and retains our subscribers; Hayu will be the exclusive home to this latest installment in the world-renowned ‘The Real Housewives’ franchise — brought to life through these six leading ladies.”
Added Helen Kruger Bratt, managing director of UTAS U.K. Productions: “Our fabulous new cast delivers everything fans could wish for — glamour, drama and friendship with a unique London edge. ‘The Real Housewives of London’ embodies all that makes this global franchise so iconic. It’s been fantastic to create this new chapter of ‘The Real Housewives’ with our brilliant partners at Hayu.”
The news of “The Real Housewives of London” casting comes after Bravo announced earlier this month that it is rebooting “Ladies of London,” which ran on the network from 2014 to 2017. The reboot will feature a brand-new cast and is produced by BBC Studios.
