Sadie Sink to Star in ‘Spider-Man 4’ With Tom Holland

Sadie Sink is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The “Stranger Things” star has been cast in “Spider-Man 4,” in which she’ll share the screen with Tom Holland as the web-slinging Avenger.

It’s unclear who Sink will portray in the comic book adventure, though Deadline, which first reported the casting news, hinted that her role will be “significant.” The outlet also posited that Sink could play “X-Men” mutant Jean Grey, a character that’s been brought to the screen in the past by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures couldn’t be reached for comment.

Plot details on the fourth “Spider-Man” installment haven’t been revealed. In the third entry, 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Peter Parker accidentally breaks open the multiverse — allowing for two prior Spider-Men, Tobey MaGuire and Andrew Garfield — to all appear in the same reality. The film concluded with Holland’s version of the character making the difficult decision to erase his identity from the world, leaving his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) to forget he exists. Sorry if that’s a spoiler, but “No Way Home” grossed a heroic $1.9 billion at the global box office so it’s safe to assume that Marvel fans are up-to-date on Spidey lore.

“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the fourquel. He’s taking over for Jon Watts, who helmed the franchise’s first three films.

More to come…
