Attorney and Talent Manager Peter Capozzi Joins The Kelley Firm
Entertainment attorney and talent manager Peter Capozzi has joined O’Brien Kelley’s boutique law practice The Kelley Firm.
“In this rapidly evolving media and entertainment landscape, law firms need to be able to adapt and meet clients’ needs quickly and efficiently. It’s why I founded The Kelley Firm and why we’ve been able to grow as quickly as we have,” founder and managing member Kelley said. “Peter’s decades-long background in TV, film, publishing, music, e-commerce, PR, and more brings him a unique understanding of the specific needs and interests of talent representation and brand development. He is a real asset to our practice. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
Capozzi, who is based in The Kelley Firm’s New York office, began his television career at 18 working for Martha Stewart Living. “I’ve always approached my career with an entrepreneurial spirit,” he said. “It’s one of the many reasons I love working with O’Brien. Each day, I wake up thinking about how I can be of maximum service to my clients across an ever-expanding omnimedia landscape. O’Brien thinks exactly the same way. It’s why we make a great team and why The Kelley Firm is poised for continued growth and innovation.”
As a manager, Capozzi secured client deals with CBS Television Distribution, Stage 29 Productions, QVC, HSN, Kroger Health, Tonal Fitness, Gaia/Gaiam TV Fit and Yoga, Lionsgate Television/Shiny Objects Entertainment and Golden Hippo, among others. As an executive producer, he negotiated sponsorship deals with P&G, Tropicana, Quaker, Vitamix, Hertz, Delta Airlines, OXO and more.
Kelley launched The Kelley Firm following 17 years at DLA Piper, where he represented major film studios, large institutional lenders, single-picture production companies and film funds in development and production finance, tax credit financing, general corporate transactions and complex cross-border production deals. Since founding The Kelley Firm, Kelley has represented producers, production companies in selecting and forming their corporate entities, acquiring intellectual property rights through options, shopping agreements and outright acquisition, structuring agreements with investors to produce motion picture content, and negotiating domestic and international distribution agreements.
