Baweja Studios, House of Talkies Ink Three-Project Pact at Mip London
Harman Baweja‘s Baweja Studios has partnered with Sidharth Jain‘s House of Talkies in a three-project deal announced at Mip London. The collaboration brings together two Indian production entities known for their content-driven approaches.
Baweja Studios, which recently produced ZEE5 original film “Mrs,” starring Sanya Malhotra – a reimagining of acclaimed Malayalam-language film “The Great Indian Kitchen” – will work with House of Talkies, the production company behind Netflix series “Trial By Fire,” which won the Filmfare OTT [streaming] critics award for best series.
House of Talkies is connected to Jain’s The Story Ink, which specializes in book-to-screen adaptations, represents over 500 stories, 200 authors, and 100 screenwriters. Baweja Studios’ upcoming projects include “Dil Ka Darwaza Kholna Darling,” directed by Vikas Bahl (“Queen,” “Super 30”) with a cast including Jaya Bachchan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The company is also developing “Boy From Andaman” with “Delhi Crime” creator Richie Mehta and Imagine Entertainment.
“At Baweja Studios, storytelling is a sacred responsibility; it’s an opportunity to reflect, challenge, and inspire,” said Baweja. “When I watched ‘Trial By Fire,’ I saw a fearless voice that refused to be drowned out by the noise of formulaic storytelling. Sidharth is the kind of producer and storyteller who fights for the authenticity of the script and ensures stories reach audiences in their most powerful form.”
Baweja noted that their “shared hunger for emotionally stirring narratives makes this partnership deeply personal for both of us.”
Jain, attending the Mip London market where the deal was announced, shared his perspective on the collaboration. “We are very excited to partner with Baweja Studios, a banner that believes in crafting films that have a transcendental power,” he said. “The films and series we are planning will be honest in exploring human conditions, chemistry and fallacies, and at the same time entertain and engage audiences.”
“As we scale up our multi-format development slate on the back of The Story Ink ecosystem, the timing of this collaboration couldn’t have been better,” he added.
Details of the three projects were not disclosed.
