Beyoncé Replaces Sphere in Cowboy Carter Visuals After Cease-and-Desist

Beyoncé has switched out Las Vegas’ Sphere for Allegiant Stadium in the campy visuals for her “Cowboy Carter” tour after receiving a cease-and-desist from the owner of Sphere.

The famous LED -lit venue was originally featured in a clip where a gigantic version of Beyoncé picks up the Sphere in her hands. However, during her third of five nights at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood this weekend, it’s clear the image of the Sphere was replaced with Allegiant Stadium, where Beyoncé is scheduled to perform on July 25.

The New York Post was the first to report the news of the cease-and-desist on May 2. In a letter published by the Post, and allegedly issued by the Sphere, the venue said it was “never asked” to be featured on the tour (seeing that Beyoncé is not scheduled to play the venue on this trek), “and the prominent appearance and manipulation of SEG’s Sphere venue in the video is unauthorized.”

Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment further amplified the news after posting the edited version of the tour visual — with Allegiant Stadium as the replacement — on Instagram, writing, “What happens in Vegas starts with a bang.”

Representatives for Beyoncé and Sphere did not immediately return Variety‘s requests for comment.

Beyoncé is scheduled to play two more nights in Los Angeles on May 7 and May 9. She will then take “Cowboy Carter” — and it’s new visuals — to the Soldier Field in Chicago for three nights starting on May 15. The lineup includes dates in the United Kingdom and France, both scheduled to take place in June.
