Blackpink’s Jisoo Signs With Warner Records for Solo Releases

1

Blackpink‘s Jisoo has signed a global label deal with Warner Records for her solo music releases, the label confirmed Tuesday. This news comes ahead of the Feb. 14 release of her debut solo mini album, “Amortage.”

“I’m excited about this new era and the continuation of my musical journey,” said Jisoo in a statement. “I feel like I’m just getting started and I’d like to thank the BLINKs for all of their love and support. This is just the beginning and I’m thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records.”

Jisoo is the final of four Blackpink members to sign a solo label deal outside of the K pop group, considered one of the best-selling girl groups globally. In 2023, Blackpink announced their split from YG Entertainment, declining to pursue contracts with the agency for their solo endeavors. The group remains signed to YG Entertainment as an entity.

Blackpink was formed under YG in 2016, but as the quartet hit new levels of recognition and popularity worldwide, there was speculation that their deal would need to be substantially renegotiated in the artists’ favor.

Individually, all the members of Blackpink have expanded their presence in the global entertainment industry with solo musical projects. Before the members terminated the prospect of solo deals with YG, Jisoo released a solo single bundle dubbed “Me,” featuring songs “Flower” and “All Eyes on Me,” which have a combined total of over 600 million streams on Spotify.
