Giant Bat Horror ‘Dark Jungle’ Launching in Cannes With Capture
Giant murderous bats are set to have their moment in the genre spotlight thanks to upcoming action-adventure horror “Dark Jungle.”
They’re also heading to Cannes, where Capture — the recently-launched joint venture between Capstone Global and Signature Entertainment — will be launching sales.
“Dark Jungle” is being produced by Neal Kingston & Michael Robertson (“The Reef: Stalked,” “Black Water: Abyss”) of production company Thrills & Spills, Michael Boughen (“Killer Elite”) plus the film’s director Martin Wilson (“Great White”). Boughen also serves as writer.
Described as “a fresh action-adventure which introduces a new apex predator”, “Dark Jungle” follows a team of elite mercenaries deep in the jungle, who embark on a rescue mission only to find themselves hunted by a swarm of giant, deadly bats.
Global sales are being handled by Capture’s Ella Field, Asia Muci, Emilie Barra and Nathan Wang and will be introduced to buyers at the Cannes Marché du Film.
“We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Neal and Michael at Thrills & Spills to bring Martin’s bold, original vision for ‘Dark Jungle’ to the screen,” said Field. “From the moment we heard the pitch and read the script, we were hooked by its ambition, relentless pace, and unforgettable creature unlike anything we’ve seen. We can’t wait to share this fresh and original story with buyers next week.”
Added Wilson: “I’m ecstatic to be teaming up with Capture on Dark Jungle and bringing a new apex predator to the Croisette. Their passion for bold, commercial storytelling is exactly what this film needs — and there’s no better place to launch than Cannes.”
Thrills & Spills said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Capture Entertainment to bring this thrill-a-minute, high tension, and bold genre energy project to life, and keep our fans and new audiences around the world on the edge of their seats.”
