The Golden Globes has set its timeline, new eligibility rules, and new information on the latest award addition to the ceremony: the Best Podcast Award.
As previously announced, the Golden Globes will air live on Sunday, January 11, on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Nikki Glazer is set to return as host.
Submissions for the 2026 Golden Globes Motion Picture and Television entries will open on Aug. 1. The awards ceremony will also mark the debut of the Best Podcast Award, with submissions set to open on Wed, Oct. 1. All entries for Motion Picture, Television and Podcast must be submitted on Oct. 31 online.
All television and podcast ballots will be sent to voters by Nov. 17. Nominees will be announced on Dec. 8, while final ballots will be sent to voters on Dec. 19. All final ballots will be submitted on or before January 3, 2026 before 5:00 PST.
The newly announced podcast award specificied all eligible podcasts must have at least 6 episodes released during the period between Jan. 1, 2025 and Sept. 30, 2025, with each episode having a minimum length of 30 program minutes. The top 25 eligible podcasts will qualify, with a total of 6 podcasts making it into the category.
Since being established in 1944, the Golden Globes have honored achievements for film and television for over 80 years. Dick Clark Productions will plan, host and produce the annual Golden Globes, gaining viewership in more than 185 countries and territories worldwide.
