The “Assassin’s Creed” video game series goes back in 2007, while the newest entry is “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” which is the 14th major installment in the very popular franchise. It’s also the follow-up to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, released in 2023.
Priced at $69.99, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” drops on Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on Thursday, Mar. 20. The game is available on Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy.
Additionally, you can upgrade to the “Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Collector’s Edition” — which is priced at $229.99 at Ubisoft.com — features the game, Sekiryu Dual Pack with gear, weapon sets and more, Sekiryu Hideout Pack and additional mastery points. As for the game itself, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” takes place during feudal Japan during the 16th century, while it explores regions like Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka and Iga. You play as a deadly Shinobi Assassin and a powerful Samurai warrior in dual mode during a time of civil war in Japan, as the country opens up to Portuguese traders and Jesuit missionaries.

Meanwhile, English musical duo The Flight composed the score for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” while Japanese-Canadian psychedelic rock band TEKE::TEKE also wrote music for the game soundtrack. It’s available to purchase on Amazon Music, or stream for free with a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited.
