New Year’s Eve revelers across the globe can watch the iconic Times Square Ball Drop live from New York City online for free– in addition to several other performances and live broadcasts ushering in 2025.
On traditional TV, Times Square will be a central locale as part of the slate of programming airing on ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN. That will include ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” (featuring live performances by Carrie Underwood, Megan Moroney, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor), CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen” (with appearances by 50 Cent, Sting, Meghan Trainor, Shania Twain, Diplo, Lil Jon, Mickey Guyton, and Patti LaBelle); and Univision’s “¡Feliz 2024!” (featuring Christian Nodal, María Becerra and Eslabón Armado).
The best way for cable-cutters to tune into any of the above live broadcasts is on a live TV streamer such as DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV or FuboTV.
Aside from the Times Square Ball Drop, you can also ring in the New Year with CBS’s “Nashville’s Big Bash,” a five-hour special featuring performances by Lainey Wilson, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett, Dustin Lynch, Elle King and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Bailey Zimmerman, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Hardy, Carly Pearce, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, Jackson Dean, Jon Pardi and Grace Bowers will also perform.
The special airs in two two-and-a-half-hour blocks for a total of five hours — 7:30-10 p.m. ET/PT, followed after a half-hour break for locals news by a part two running from 10:30 p.m.-1:05 a.m. ET/PT. The show will also stream live and on-demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers (and on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers starting the following day).
The entirety of the six-hour Times Square 2025 livestream will also be available for free on multiple websites, including TimesSquareNYC.org and TimesSquareBall.net, powered by Vimeo’s Livestream platform.It will start at 6 p.m. ET on Dec. 31, 2024, and end at 12:15 a.m. ET on Jan. 1, 2025.
