Hulu‘s new reality show about the drama-ridden Vanderpumps is finally here. “Vanderpump Villa,” which follows matriarch Lisa Vanderpump’s hand-selected staff as they work (and play) at her restaurant at an exclusive French estate, premieres on Monday, Apr. 1.
The first three episodes of the unscripted docudrama is now exclusively available to stream on Hulu, with episodes coming out on a weekly basis every Monday. In order to stream the first season as it comes out, you’ll have to sign up for a Hulu account, with subscriptions starting at $7.99/Month.
According to the show’s official logline, each “scintillating episode follows the elite staff as they try to provide luxurious, once-in-a-lifetime, Vanderpump-curated experiences for guests while dealing with rivalries, romances and raucous misadventures that come with living and working together 24/7.”
Prior to the start of filming the 10-episode reality show, producers put out a casting call for restaurant professionals who wanted a role. Openings included head chef, mixologist, sous chef, line cook, housekeeper, fine dining server, event coordinator, event assistant and estate manager. Furthermore, the casting call said that hospitality crew is expected to “navigate every extravagant desire of their well-to-do guests in the French countryside,” and candidates should have “television-ready charisma.”
“Vanderpump Rules” dominated pop culture last year when a cheating scandal within the cast, nicknamed “Scandoval,” shook up the series dynamic. The 11th season premiered in January with Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval, two of the three central Scandoval participants, returning for the new season. Rachel Leviss, the third central player in the drama, did not return.
The show is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions. Entertainment 360 is also attached as a producer.
“Villa” premieres on on April 1 on Hulu.
