The Golden Trailer Awards, the prestigious event honoring marketing executives and companies that create movie trailers, commercials and posters worldwide, will be hosted by James Murray, best known as Murr from TBS’s “Impractical Jokers.” The event will be held Thursday, May 29, at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

A comedian, writer and producer, Murr worked as the senior vice president of development for NorthSouth Productions for nearly a decade before rocketing to comedy fame on “Impractical Jokers.” He is now the owner of Impractical Studios. Murr is also an international bestselling author, whose works include the sci-fi horror “Awakened” trilogy, the suspense thrillers “You Better Watch Out,” “Don’t Move” and “The Stowaway,” and the middle-grade series “Area 51 Interns.” His horror movie “Don’t Move” hits theaters soon.

“Murr’s comedy is a perfect match for the most fun awards ceremony on the calendar,” said Evelyn Brady, Golden Trailer Awards executive director. “His show ‘Impractical Jokers’ turns the hidden-camera concept on its head, putting Murr and his friends in ridiculous situations with strangers. He’ll keep the show light on its feet and humming along in great spirits.”

Joining Murr on stage as presenters are Chanel Ali, host of the Food Network digital series “Food Debate!” and one of Deadline’s 15 Comedians to Watch in 2025; Brooklyn-based stand-up, writer and actor Nico Carney, whose standup covers his experiences as a trans man growing up in Savannah, Ga., and whatever else he finds silly and interesting; “Daily Show” writer Dina Hashem, whose credits also include “Sex Lives of College Girls,” BJ Novak’s “The Premise” and Ramy Youssef’s “#1 Happy Family,” and whose work as a standup includes a Comedy Central set with three million views; Chloe Radcliffe, a New York-based standup comedian, actor and writer who has been featured this year as one of Deadline’s 15 Comedians to Watch and last year as one of Vulture’s Comedians You Should and Will Know, and who just wrapped production on Bradley Cooper’s “Is This Thing On?” opposite Cooper, Will Arnett and Laura Dern, and her NYT-recommended one-woman show, “Cheat”; and Becky Robinson, also a Deadline Comedian to Watch, who has risen to fame with her character Entitled Housewife, an
outspoken golfer whose antics have led not only to bookings but the original song “Mama Needs a Claw” and even the Entitled Housewife Getaway Weekend fan event.

“These presenters truly represent the broad scope of up-and-coming comedy,” said Monica Brady, the show’s executive producer. “Alongside Murr, they’re sure to keep the show fun and fresh.”

The celebratory show, which routinely sells out, draws a heavy industry crowd of studio and network marketing executives, representatives from creative agencies, media, and celebrities.

In total, Golden Trailer Awards are presented to winners across 114 diverse categories. Last year, more than 1000 studio marketing executives, movie fans, celebrities and trailer editors were on hand to celebrate as MOCEAN won the top honor for their work on Disney/ Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine” teaser titled “Taken,” which was lauded with the Best of Show award. Disney landed the most wins with 19, followed by Netflix with 17. AV Squad took home Agency of the Year honors.
