Leo Woodall is set to star opposite Rachel Weisz in the upcoming Netflix limited series “Vladimir,” Variety has learned.

The show was originally announced in March with an eight-episode order and is based in the Julia May Jonas novel of the same name. Woodall will star as Vladimir. The official logline for the show states:

“As a woman’s (Weisz) life unravels, she becomes obsessed with her captivating new colleague (Woodall). Full of sexy secrets, dark humor and complex characters, ‘Vladimir’ is about what happens when a woman goes hell-bent to turn her fantasies into reality.”

This will mark Woodall’s second starring role in a Netflix limited series based on a book. He previously played the male lead in the 2024 series “One Day” opposite Ambika Mod, with the show earning strong critical acclaim upon its release. Woodall is perhaps best known for his role in Season 2 of “The White Lotus,” while he has also been in shows like “Prime Target” at Apple TV+ and “Vampire Academy” at Peacock. His film roles include “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” and “Cherry.”

He is repped by WME, Hamilton Hodell, Anonymous Content, and Goodman Genow.

Jonas is adapting her book for the screen and also serves as executive producer on the series. Weisz will executive produce in addition to starring. Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, and Kira Carstensen executive produce via Merman along Jason Winer & Jon Radler of Small Dog Picture Company, as well as Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. 20th Television is the studio.
