‘The Fixies’ Franchise Heads to South Asia in Animotion-Reliance Deal
Kid-targeted U.A.E. animation powerhouse Animotion Media is expanding its global footprint, linking with India’s Reliance Animation Studios to bring hit properties to the South Asian market in a major distribution play.
Reliance will introduce Animotion’s flagship franchise “The Fixies” to Indian audiences in 2025, with plans to further expand across Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, the Maldives, and Afghanistan.
The partnership will see both the “The Fixies” animated series and “The Fixies Movie: Top Secret” brought to multiple platforms in local languages, extending the property’s reach after previous successful localizations in English, Spanish, Polish, and Arabic territories.
The Fixies are a race of tiny human-like creatures who secretly live inside of machines, appliances and devices, maintaining and repairing them.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Reliance Animation, a leader in South Asia’s animation landscape, to bring ‘The Fixies’ to millions of new fans,” said Julia Nikolaeva, general manager at Animotion Media Group. The property has already generated billions of views on YouTube and other platforms globally.
Reliance Animation Studios, a key entertainment division of India’s Reliance Group, will leverage its regional expertise to distribute the content across television, digital streaming platforms, and pursue licensing opportunities. The companies have also outlined plans for localized spin-offs and new series developments.
Shibasish Sarkar, group CEO of Reliance Entertainment, characterized the deal as one that will “pave the way for cross-border content collaboration in both entertainment markets, while also unlocking new opportunities for growth and expanded partnerships.”
“We are excited to partner with Animotion Media on ‘The Fixies,’ this high quality property. This marks the beginning of our joint project, and we look forward to broadening our partnership to develop new intellectual properties that leverage the creative talents and capabilities of both Reliance and Animotion,” added Tejonidhi Bhandare, CEO at Reliance Animation.
The strategic alliance represents a significant move in Animotion’s international growth strategy as it targets one of the world’s most rapidly evolving entertainment markets.
Animotion Media’s portfolio includes other globally recognized animation brands such as “Tina and Tony” and “Baby Riki,” with a focus on educational and entertaining content for young viewers worldwide.
