Weekend Update Slams Musk Leaving DOGE, Diddy Trial and Jost’s Dolls
Colin Jost doesn’t care about Trump cutting social services, as long as the President doesn’t take his precious dolls. In “Saturday Night Live”’s latest “Weekend Update” segment, Jost and co-anchor Michael Che wasted no time taking aim at Donald Trump’s many recent headline-making antics, including posting an AI-generated portrait of himself in holy garb a week after the pope’s death. “As a Catholic, this feels slightly disrespectful,” Jost said, with Che adding that the photo (posted to X) was “Ordering a 1-way ticket to hell.”
Che also took aim at fellow Trump administration boss Elon Musk, who recently announced he’s stepping back from duties as part of the DOGE federal agency. “As usual,” Che quipped,” “he pulled out a little too late.” The ongoing Diddy saga continues to be top-of-mind for Che, who noted that “The sex trafficking trial of sean combs begins in new york next week,” assuring viewers “Just like his parties, i’m only going there to watch.”
Weekend Update continued with Jost railing against Trump’s sweeping financial policies: not because of the ruinous impact they’re having on the American people, but because kids will only be getting “Two dolls for Christmas instead of 30.”
“If I wake up on Christmas morning and I run downstairs to find only two dolls, I will lose my f–ing mind,” Jost ranted. “Cutting social security? They’re old, screw ‘em. Innocent children being deported? They gotta grow up sometime.” Che also took aim at West’s recent malpractice lawsuit against his dentist, joking that his dentist “didn’t realize he had the tank set to nazi.”
Che closed out the Update with a joke about Uber offering free rides to teens attending prom, theorizing that users could expect their driver Matt Gaetz to be arriving soon.
